2012 New York Festival – Bronze Winner

NYF’s World’s Best Television & Films honors programming in all lengths and forms from over 40 countries. Dedicated to both the TV and Film industries, categories mirror today’s global trends and encourage the next generation of story-tellers: News, Sports, Documentary, Reality, Drama, Feature Films, Telenovelas, Webisodes, Promo, Music Videos, Corporate Films, Animation. The 2012 TV & Film Awards ceremony for The World’s Best TV & Films was held on April 17th in conjunction with The NAB Show in Las Vegas. Murray Fleming attended the ceremony and accepted the award on behalf of the creative team at Rogers Sportsnet and MFMusic’s mixing engineer Danny Sustar.

The sound design for MLB on Rogers Sportsnet was created with very little time and has a final mix with over 65 tracks of audio. The challenge for the soundtrack was to evoke the live atmosphere of America’s pastime while keeping the main focus on the script, enhanced with subtle VO sweetening, and complimented by the drama and excitement of the M/E tracks. With amazing images capturing the emotional moments that represent baseball’s heart, the soundtrack needed to deliver a delicate mix that brings the audience through the story, and into the seat of a “Perfect Day”.
